This Mec-Gar 10-round 9mm magazine is designed for full-size, small-frame EAA Witness/Tanfoglio pistols and is compatible with the following models:
- EAA Witness/Tanfoglio
- Tanfoglio TA-90 (not for pre-1988 series models; pre-B CZ 75 factory magazines should work with those models)
- EAA Witness PS
- Baby Desert Eagle III
- Springfield Armory P9
- Jericho 941 models built with Tanfoglio-supplied parts
- ITM AT-84
- Armscor MAP FS / Rock Island Armory MAP MS 9mm
- BUL Cherokee produced in 2005 or later with the polymer frame and accessory rail
- BUL Cherokee Compact
I have been told that pre-2005 BUL Cherokee pistols with the polymer frame and no accessory rail use CZ 75B magazines.
The magazine will function in the Arsenal Strike One, but it will not lock the slide open after the last round.
A customer has also reported that this magazine is compatible with the following SPHINX/Phoenix pistols and functions properly:
- SPHINX 3009
- AT2000S
- Phoenix Fusion Standard
- Phoenix Redback
- ITM AT84S (pre-SPHINX)
Does not fit older SPHINX 3000 models.
Small-Frame EAA Witness/Tanfoglio Magazine
This is the magazine for the full-size pistol with the small frame and narrow magazine well. It is intended for small-frame metal EAA Witness/Tanfoglio pistols and the EAA Witness PS small-frame polymer pistols.
If your pistol uses EAA Witness magazine #101900, this is the small-frame 9mm magazine you need.
Large-frame metal and polymer pistols have a wider magazine well and require a different, wider magazine, which I also stock.
Mec-Gar is the OEM supplier of Tanfoglio magazines. These magazines are Mec-Gar's aftermarket versions of the factory magazines they manufacture.
How to Determine Whether You Need a Small-Frame or Large-Frame Magazine
Prior to 2005, the EAA Witness was produced in both small- and large-frame configurations, depending on the caliber and frame material.
- EAA Witness Classics and other EAA Witness pistols produced before 2005 in 9mm or .40 S&W use small-frame magazines.
- .38 Super, .45 ACP, and 10mm models are considered large-frame.
- Full-size Witness P, Witness Steel, Elite, and Xtreme models produced after 2005 use large-frame magazines.
- The EAA Witness P-S (small-frame polymer) uses small-frame magazines.
- If your pistol takes Witness magazine #101900, you need the small-frame 9mm magazine.
Small-Frame vs. Large-Frame Dimensions
The approximate dimensions are:
Small-frame magazine
- Approximately 0.796" thick (side to side)
- Approximately 1.25" front to back
- Smooth sides on the magazine tube
Large-frame magazine
- Approximately 0.843" thick (side to side)
- Approximately 1.369" front to back
- 9mm large-frame magazines have grooves running down the sides of the magazine tube
Neither the large- nor small-frame .40 S&W magazine tubes have grooves on the sides.
The EAA Witness small-frame 9mm magazines originally held 16 rounds; current small- and large-frame 9mm magazines hold 17 rounds. Small-frame .40 S&W magazines hold 12 rounds, while large-frame .40 S&W magazines hold 14 rounds.

Constructed from certified carbon steel and features a heat-treated housing and high-impact polymer or certified carbon steel follower and floorplate. The magazine spring is made of high-strength type "D" music wire, the strongest wire available. TIG welding provides additional strength and a seamless finish. Each magazine surface is specially treated to ensure high corrosion resistance.
