EAA Witness / Tanfoglio Full-Size Small-Frame 9mm Magazine — Mec-Gar, Blued Finish (MGWIT9SF10B)
This Mec-Gar 9mm magazine is designed for full-size EAA Witness and Tanfoglio pistols with the small frame and narrow magazine well. Mec-Gar is an OEM supplier of Tanfoglio magazines, and this is Mec-Gar’s aftermarket version of the factory magazine they produce.

Arsenal Strike One: The magazine functions in the pistol, but it may not activate the slide stop after the last round.

EAA Witness Small-Frame vs. Large-Frame Magazines
This is the magazine you need if you have a full-size pistol with a small frame and narrow magazine well.
If your pistol takes Witness magazine #101900, this is the correct small-frame 9mm magazine.
Large-frame metal and polymer pistols have a wider magazine well and require a different, wider magazine.
For Witness pistols produced before 2005, frame size varies by caliber and configuration:
- 9mm and .40 S&W: Small-frame
- .38 Super, .45 ACP, and 10mm: Large-frame
- Witness PS: Small-frame polymer
- Witness Classic: Small-frame
- Witness P full-size, Witness Steel, Elite, and Xtreme models produced after 2005: Generally large-frame
How to Identify Your Frame
Small-frame 9mm magazines are approximately 0.796" wide (side to side) × 1.25" front to back.
Large-frame magazines are approximately 0.843" wide × 1.369" front to back.
Another easy way to distinguish them:
- Small-frame 9mm magazines: Smooth sides
- Large-frame 9mm magazines: Grooves running down the sides of the magazine tube
The EAA Witness 9mm small-frame magazines originally held 16 rounds; current small- and large-frame 9mm magazines hold 17 rounds.
For .40 S&W:
- Small-frame magazines hold 12 rounds
- Large-frame magazines hold 14 rounds
- Neither the small- nor large-frame .40 S&W magazine tubes have the side grooves found on large-frame 9mm magazines.
Small-Frame Summary
Small-frame models include all Witness PS models, Witness Classic models, and firearms produced in 9mm or .40 S&W before 2005.
Pre-1988 Tanfoglio/CZ-pattern pistols: The discontinued pre-B CZ 75 factory magazine may be compatible. CZ magazines 11152 and 11102 may also fit pre-1988 series models.

Constructed from certified carbon steel and features a heat-treated housing and high-impact polymer or certified carbon steel follower and floorplate. The magazine spring is made of high-strength type "D" music wire, the strongest wire available. TIG welding provides additional strength and a seamless finish. Each magazine surface is specially treated to ensure high corrosion resistance.
